WHAT IS YOUR PROCESS?

Here are the steps from beginning to end:

  1. Fill out the form on my contact page and tell me about your pet’s unique personality, lifestyle, and quirks. What are you envisioning for your portrait?

  2. I’ll request that you email me 3-4 pictures of your pet. Together we’ll determine the best one for the portrait and I will provide my expert opinion.

  3. You’ll pay a 50% deposit (a Paypal invoice is sent via email). Then I get to work.

  4. I email you a “half-way there” progress photo.

  5. Once the progress photo is approved, I’ll finish the portrait and email you a watermarked finished proof for final approval.

  6. You’ll pay the remaining 50% (a Paypal invoice is sent via email).

  7. Once payment is received, the original portrait ships. A tracking number will be sent via email.

WHAT DO YOU CHARGE FOR A PORTRAIT?

You can find all prices and sizes on the Order page. My commissions are based on size and background detail. (Backgrounds are left white unless stated otherwise on your invoice.)

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY PORTRAIT?

A 50% deposit is required to begin. Funds are transferred via PayPal. Don’t worry if you don’t have a PayPal account. The invoice allows you to pay using a debit or credit card like any other online purchase.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE BEST PICTURE OF MY PET?

I have a few tips:

  • A picture where your pet takes up most of the frame works best.

  • Try to take the picture at eye level with your pet. This allows for a more natural portrait (without hidden legs, tails, etc.)

  • Higher resolution pictures are always your best bet. Use the best camera you possibly can for your pet’s photo.

  • Lighting is everything. Too light or too dark and the your pet’s nuances and small details won’t show up.

WHAT IS YOUR WAIT TIME?

Wait time depends on my current workload and can be around 1-2 months. If you need a portrait completed by a certain date, please let me know and I will try to fit you into my schedule.

HOW WILL YOU SHIP MY PORTRAIT?

Your finished portrait is packaged in a plastic sleeve and shipped in a flat box with inner protective foam. Your portrait will never ship rolled in a tube. Ground shipping is free and I insure each box for the entire price of the portrait. A tracking number will be emailed to you once your order ships.

CAN I CHECK ON THE PROGRESS OF MY PORTRAIT?

i will email you a picture of my progress at the half-way point. Once the portrait is finished, I will email you a watermarked scanned proof for your final approval before shipping. Once everything is approved and the final 50% of the portrait price is received, your order ships.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

Due to the custom nature of a pet portrait, I do not offer refunds. You’ll receive two proofs throughout the process: one at the half-way point and one of your finished portrait. These are your chances to approve the progress.

WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE?

All portraits are drawn on Strathmore Bristol 300 Series paper (smooth surface, heavy weight, acid free)

The pencils I use are Staedtler Mars Lumograph.
